Childcare Orientation

We understand the nervousness you and your child might be feeling in the lead up to their first day at childcare. Starting childcare for the first time can feel both exciting and daunting at the same time.

All our new families are welcome to participate in a period of childcare orientation with their child prior to the start of their childcare. We provide orientation for 1-2 hours for a minimum of two sessions.

Orientation is important as it encourages your child to explore their new room and outdoor space and participate in some activities with our Educators and their peers. This will help on their first official day of childcare and their new environment won’t be a shock or surprise to them, or to you. This will also help show you just how much fun our children have at childcare.

Families have found childcare orientation beneficial as in addition to familiarisation to new surroundings and people, it also allows time for the child and parents or guardians to share information about the child’s likes, dislikes, needs and wants, which helps to make this transition smoother. We find that the more we know about your child before their first day the better we can accommodate their needs.
