KingKids Fee Summary Example
Example Only – Profile 1 – Phil and Liz
Phil and Liz are full-time working parents to 12-month-old Sam and are seeking early learning services for the first time. They plan to place Sam into care 5 days a week (10 hours per day or 100 hours per fortnight). With a combined annual income of $170,000, Phil and Liz qualify for an estimated Child Care Subsidy (CCS) of 72%. At Berwick, where the daily fee is $161.50, Services Australia would pay approximately $116.28 per day directly to KingKids, leaving Phil and Liz with an out-of-pocket cost of $45.22 per day (known as the gap fee). Over 5 days of care, this translates to $581.40 in subsidy payments and $226.10 in out-of-pocket costs for the week.
Example Only – Profile 2 – Jessica and Dominique
Jessica works full time and Dominique works part time, and both are mums to 3-year-old Amelia. Jessica and Dominique love the KingKids program, and Amelia has been attending the service for a couple of years now. As Dominique works part time and they have wonderful family support, they are only looking to access 3 days of care for Amelia per week this year (12 hours per day or 72 hours per fortnight). With a combined annual income of $125,000, Jessica and Dominique qualify for an estimated Child Care Subsidy (CCS) of 76%. At Hallam, where the daily fee is $151, Services Australia would pay approximately $114.76 per day directly to KingKids, leaving Jessica and Dominique with an out-of-pocket cost of $36.24 per day (known as the gap fee). Over 3 days of care, this translates to $344.28 in subsidy payments and $108.72 in out-of-pocket costs per week.
Example Only – Profile 3 – Sylvia
Sylvia is a single parent and Mum to Jack, who has just turned 2 years old. Sylvia works part time, four days per week, and feels like part of the KingKids family as Jack has been attending KingKids since he was only 6 months old. This year, Sylvia intends to enrol Jack for 4 days a week (10 hours per day or 80 hours per fortnight). With an annual income of $60,000, Sylvia qualifies for an estimated Child Care Subsidy (CCS) of 90%. At Narre Warren, where the daily fee is $156, Services Australia would pay approximately $140.40 per day directly to KingKids, leaving Sylvia with an out-of-pocket cost of $15.60 per day (known as the gap fee). Over 4 days of care, this translates to $561.60 in subsidy payments and $62.40 in out-of-pocket costs per week.
Example Only – Profile 4 – Bradley and Aaron
Bradley works full time, and Aaron works part time, and together they are fathers to 3-year-old Joseph and 1-year-old Scarlett. Both children have been attending KingKids since they were 6 months old. As Aaron works part time, they are only looking to access 3 days of care for both children per week this year (10 hours per day or 60 hours per fortnight). With a combined annual income of $155,000, Bradley and Aaron qualify for an estimated Child Care Subsidy (CCS) of 75%. Due to the Higher Childcare Subsidy for their second child, Scarlett is eligible for a subsidy of 89%.
At Berwick, where the daily fee is $161.50:
For Joseph (First Child): Services Australia would pay $103.00 per day directly to KingKids, leaving Bradley and Aaron with an out-of-pocket cost of $58.50 per day.
