As the world trudges through times of such uncertainty the stories of community, support and gratitude continue to emerge. The strength, compassion and caring nature of the KingKids community only demonstrate that together we are stronger.

COVID-19 has swept through Australia causing many businesses to close and in turn, people to lose their jobs. We are extremely empathetic to anyone in this situation and know that some of our families have been affected by this. We know this can be difficult for some people to cope with and urge anyone feeling concerned to seek professional advice.

Sadly, the Children’s Services Sector has been struck by a sudden and huge drop in occupancy levels leaving some people feeling uncertain about the future. As we care for some of the most vulnerable, and undoubtedly precious members of the community it is understandable that their families are wanting to keep their children at home and shelter them from the virus.

The health and safety of our children, families and Educators has always been our highest priority and we are continuing to monitor the well being of each individual. Currently we have had NO confirmed cases of COVID-19 . We are optimistic that the new Stimulus Packages that have been announced will help many people in the community.

Additional funding has been set-up for families who are dealing with financial hardship. Additional Childcare Subsidy (ACCS) is easy to apply for and can cover the cost of all of your Child Care fees if approved. There is more information at the link below. Please speak to one of our managers if you would like more information or to put in an application.

The good news in all of this is that most of the children at our services are blissfully unaware! They are carrying about their day learning through play, laughing and spreading happiness through our teams. We are constantly reminded that we need to practice gratitude especially in times like these.

We are grateful to have an amazing team of Educators and Managers who are on the ground everyday doing their best to make this crazy world feel as normal as possible. We can’t thank them enough.

The Prime Minister is doing his best to ‘Flatten the Curve’ and it was reported a few days ago that we are starting to see signs of this – what great news! The concern for many is how long this may continue for, at this stage there is no answer as no one really knows. What we do know is that these feelings should subside as we all adapt to the new normal way of life.

We are unsure what the coming weeks and months will look like but what we do know is that, we are strong, we are resilient, and we will be here through all of this waiting to rebuild bigger and better than ever.  We thank everyone for their continuing support.
